John Hopkins Medicine Innovation Win
In 2022, WASSUP TE (umbrella company for AYOTGL) received the "WARD INFINITY HEALTH INNOVATORS AWARD"
hosted by Sibley Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine for developing the
"Wassup Te Chemistry Kit", a preventive measures chemistry set designed to educate Washington, D.C. youth about the importance of choosing healthier beverage options. Additionally, we created a visionary outline for a documentary that tells a story compatible with data collected by the CDC, Johns Hopkins, and ourselves on the most effective ways to immediately impact healthcare in communities like our WARD 8 neighborhood. The data indicated that creating a health-conscious and culturally inspired documentary about the history of sugar and sugary beverages in relation to slavery, capitalism, and its detrimental impact on brown and black communities would be the most effective option.
