According to Microsoft Bing a Concussion also known as mild traumatic brain injuries are mild brain injuries caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head.
Symptoms may include headache, dizziness, difficulty with thinking and concentration, sleep disturbances, mood changes, a brief period of memory loss, brief loss of consciousness; problems with balance; nausea; blurred vision; and mood changes.
Here are couple of methods to help CALM your "Concussion Symptoms"
- Palming (Best for overstimulation situations)
1. Try sitting in a quiet (but not required) more so comfortable place.
2. Begin by rubbing your hands together to create heat
3. Make a "cup" with your palms
4. With your eyes still open cover them with your palms.
Remain in the position until your symptoms calm.
If there is a table or counter in front of you lean forward to ground your elbow for a more comfort.
- Grounding (Best for dizziness or overwhelming emotions)
This method works best laying down, seated or standing in a safe place.
Begin by assuming a comfortable position.
- Place your feet flat on the floor with your back against a supported surface (wall or pillow)
- Close your eyes and focus on the feeling of the surface supporting you. Imagine roots connecting you to that surface.
- Begin to breathe into that connected feeling for 3 - 5 easy breaths or as long as you may need.
